Last month one of my first customers, Christine, received her Shortcake album. She and her husband have been sharing and documenting their daughter's first year with family and friends via Facebook, and wanted an album to capture all the photos, dates, descriptions, and comments they've been collecting online.
The result is their album "Lena's First Six Months: April - October 2015" - an 80-page album designed by myself and my team. When it was time to place the print order, Christine chose an 8" x 8" Signature Album for her family, plus two 5" x 5" softcover copies as holiday gifts for Lena's grandparents.
When the album first arrived and Christine opened it, she sent me this text: "My album just arrived. Not going to lie...I cried a little when I opened it. It came out BEAUTIFUL!!!!" Yay. :)
That made me so happy to hear how pleased she was. It's so fulfilling to know how much a Shortcake album can affect someone. The first time you see your child's or your family's life captured in beautiful print, it's often an emotional moment.
I was excited to hear what else she had to say about her experience, and this week she was kind enough to answer a few questions for me.
Q: What did you think about the design and order process?
A: There was a lot of thought put into it by the Shortcake staff. I felt as if it was just as important to them to get it right as it was for me to have it done.
Q: What were your parents' reactions when they opened your gift of Lena's book?
A: They loved them too! I found them looking through it constantly. I know my mom has been using it as her grandma's brag book since the holidays!
Q: What does Lena think of her book?
A: She thinks it tastes delicious!
Q: Now that you've looked through your album a few times, what future value do you think it holds for you and your family?
A: It takes the place of the traditional albums my mom had put together of our family as kids. I always loved sitting and looking through them, but as I became an adult and looked to have a family I wondered how am I going to do that? Now I know - with the help of Shortcake!
Q: How would you describe the overall quality of your album?
